Zach graduated from Brown University with a concentration in Religious Studies focusing on comparative mysticism. As a voracious learner, he studied widely at Brown, taking courses in over a dozen different departments. For the last six years, he has tutored K-12 students in academic subjects with an emphasis on math, writing, and study skills. Zach enjoys working with students of all ages and finding the unique way to connect with each child.
While at Brown, Zach took a semester off to complete a six month solitary meditation retreat, and he has been teaching mindfulness to students, elders, community leaders, and prisoners for the last seven years. Zach incorporates mindfulness exercises into tutoring when appropriate to address the performance anxieties that many students face. Besides tutoring, Zach also writes about meditation for an online yoga and wellness magazine and is building a leadership development app for consumers and organizations.
Zach's goals are to help students find joy in learning, to nurture their self-confidence, and to aid them in successfully moving toward their goals.
