Hailea

Hailea helps students feel confident in science—even those who think they “hate” biology or chemistry. Her sessions are calm, mindful, and relationship-focused, and she adapts her approach to fit each learner. She specializes in teaching biology and chemistry, including environmental science, ecology, and organic chemistry. Hailea has made it her mission to make science approachable and digestible for everyone.

A Researcher and Marine Biologist, Hailea has many years of experience tutoring and teaching students in grades 8–12 and at the university level. She earned a B.S. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Purdue University, with minors in Wildlife Science and Sociology, and subsequently completed a master’s degree in Marine Biology at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, where she investigated parasite–host dynamics in coastal ecosystems.

When Hailea is not working, you will either find her outdoors on an adventure or curled up in her recliner with a good book. Ideally, she would be in a hammock in the middle of nowhere with a good book (the best of both worlds!).
