Kieran
Kieran believes that the most meaningful learning happens when students are invited to explore ideas through their own questions, interests, and ways of thinking. He sees his role as a collaborator and guide—someone who helps students connect personally with the material while building the skills and confidence to think critically, write clearly, and engage deeply.
Kieran’s student-centered approach draws from years of experience teaching across disciplines, including IB History, Comparative Literature, and Theory of Knowledge. Whether supporting students with French language acquisition, analytical writing, or interdisciplinary thinking, Kieran adapts his teaching to the unique learning style, background, and goals of each student.
A fluent French speaker and certified ESL instructor, Kieran offers language tutoring that is culturally rich and conversation-driven, encouraging real-world use and expressive freedom. He also specializes in helping high school and pre-university students develop efficient study skills, craft strong argumentative essays, refine their literary analysis, and prepare for the demands of IB assessments.
Kieran earned a B.A. in International Studies with a French minor from the University of Utah and is currently completing a Master’s in Journalism, Media, and Globalization through the Erasmus Mundus program, where his research focuses on Totalitarianism and Transition. Outside the classroom, he is a lifelong competitive rock climber and outdoor educator. He has led international climbing expeditions, taught in wilderness classrooms, and directed programs that blend academic rigor with physical challenge and self-discovery. His love of the outdoors deeply shapes his teaching—he values patience, resilience, and the kind of growth that comes from navigating difficult terrain, whether on the rock face or in the classroom.
